There are a few pocket amplifiers out there, but i will be reviewing the FiiO E5, FiiO E3, Boostaroo revolution and the boostaroo Audio Amplifier & Splitter (T613-ENC). The reason why i have chosen these amplifiers is because i have actually used them for extended periods of time in the past.
Alot of people always ask which is better when it comes to buying a pocket amplifier, the honest answer to that question would be 'it depends on what you are looking for'
My first amplifier was the boostaroo amplifier & splitter, this had a 3 way splitter and was more than loud enough for my needs. It was big though, i used to try and keep it my bag and have the earphones come out of the bag, this was a problem when standing on the train so i always ended up having to hold it. It was the size of a small mp3 player but i sometimes found myself running out of battery even though the batteries did not need replacing for weeks
